Staging the White House

Services for Real Estate Pros with Your Virtual Assistant

My friend Joanne wrote this, & I thought it was cute.

Original content by Joanne O'Donnell

Thinking of our new First Family moving into the White House after our friend George... Maybe Michele could use the services of a good home stager to freshen up the place and change the energy.  Yes, I know, they aren't selling the White House, but many of us stagers have a service we sometimes call "Staging to Live" (or sometimes redesign).  Anyone know Michele's number?  She seems like the kind of gal who would appreciate the stagers' approach to interior design; we use what's already there to the best advantage before even thinking about spending money on additional "stuff".  Amazing what can be done with what's already there plus some paint - we can transform any space quickly and economically.    Not since Jackie O made her major (and costly) transformation during the Kennedy years has there been any evidence of good taste at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.  Check out this article if you need proof!

Staging the White House for the new First Family to Live - oh, my, how I would love that job... Paint, a little bit of rearranging, refreshing, thinking outside of the box...  We could have that lovely old home ready for architectural digest instead of the tour of old relics...  I doubt we'd need to buy anything - all the furniture and accessories they must have in storage - a home stagers dream!

So, Michelle, give me a call, I promise to ensure you a legacy like Jackie O's on design but without spending a bunch of money Barack needs to get us back on track!

How cute!  I would be thrilled to learn that Joanne actually did get to 'redesign' the White House.  Now how cool would that be?

Happy New Year, Chris!  Hope you and yours are healthy, safe and loved.

First Chris, thank you so much for always reaching out and staying in touch. I have certainly been spending my time adjusting to this market. I will certainly be returning to ActiveRain in 2009. I'm looking forward to catching up.

Best wishes to you and yours (and of course your mom).

Warmest regards.

Hi Mom - Joanne is cute, huh?  It would be a hoot if she actually got to stage the whitehouse.

Dionne - It has been a challenge, I'm glad you'll still be here in 2009.  I want to stay in touch, so I do so for selfish reasons.  : )  Happy New Year!

I saw a piece on the future first lady tonight on the news. For once they made a positive reference to something. Apparently, she bought a dress from White House| Black Market and then wore it on the View. She mentioned where she got the dress and now they can not keep it in stock. The amzing thing was the dress was well under $50.

That's very cool, Danny.  Especially for the person who made that dress! Glad to see her acting like a regular woman.

Chris, I think that everything that the new First Family will do will be scrutinized more than usually and that is truly sad.

I'm sure that is true and it is sad, but I have a feeling they have the grace to handle it well.
