We are Double (maybe triple)  Lucky to be "GREEN" Buyers' Brokers here in Asheville, NC.  I say this for two (or three) reasons.

First-we are lucky because not only are we located in one of the most beautiful places in the world, but, to our great advantage,

Second-our eco-friendly clients recognize this.

Third- (and we are VERY lucky in this regard) it seems that our clients already appreciate how much green features and environmental solutions benefit them.

Most of the folks we get to work with place a very high value their environment (both personal and in general) and on wellness. The benefits, such as the dollar savings, energy savings, comfort, and/or health-related benefits of green features are NOT lost on them! Of course we still talk about the fact that green features typically save energy and money, and that  they can create comfort and health-related benefits.


We were out looking at LAND for a client today.

The family plans to build three homes on the property they select. The homes will be sited to take advantage of excellent solar orientation on only a small  a portion of the land. (The majority of the land will be conserved.) There's much to consider in this regard including  passive and solar building features and the costs involved.

Our clients, who, for the most part,  are really  into sustainable design and development, so we have developed a list of resources for our clients. More on this in posts to come. . .

The most requested features I have been made aware of from clients looking for land are:

1) South facing.

2) Water on the land, either springs, pond or creek.

3) Tillable acreage.

4) Views are nice but subordinate to the features above.

5) Concern regarding development upon the adjacent properties.
