Instructions for installation of washer.  Connect the hot and cold hoses to the valves and slide the drain hose into the drain.  I guess I could handle the hot and cold connection, but sliding that drain hose into the drain might be a problem.

crowded washer box

Why go to all the trouble to install the thing if your going to make it useless.  Oh and by the way does the humidifier drain work if it is higher than the humidifier.  Don't worry everyone that sump pump hose is for the condensate sump.

Jack.. People never amaze me with their creativity.... or lack there of.  Is the dehumidifer up higher on a shelf or something.. and therefore draining *down*.... probably not from what you mentioned.

Jack - I saw something in a new home recently that I sold, which I hadn't seen before.  Out in the garage, it had a rather large plumbing control station, with multiple plumbing shutoffs to the house (I hope I'm describing this correctly).  Anyway, it had the usual main shutoff to the house on the station, then a pipe upward, with approximately 10 different "Ts" off of it, which had their own sub-shutoffs, to control plumbing to various parts of the house.  It was really cool, because you could shut down the plumbing to the kitchen, and work on the garbage disposal, or dishwasher, but still be able to take a shower up in the bedrooms, that is if you are capable of working on appliances and showering at the same time :-)

I know, I know, you probably have seen these a hundred times, but because I'm usually dealing with older construction, that multiple shutoff station got my attention.

Valerie - the humidifier was below the drain or drain was above humidifier, take your pick.  They ran the tubing out of the humidifier up the wall and then down through the hole in the washer box.  I guess their water runs uphill.

Myrl - Yes. I have seen them a lot lately, they are becoming "the way to do it".  What I want to know is how do you take a shower and work on the appliances at the same time. Hmmmmmmm.

Jack wouldn't that water softener drain also require an air gap?

On the plus side somebody actually took the time to label each individual tube.  I've never see that.   And its actually legible.  I've never seen any of the plumbing control stations Myrl is talking about that sounds really cool.  Wish I had one of those.

Charles - Yep - I told them that they had to move the whole shabang to the floor drain.

Justin - I like the idea of being able to shut off water at the fixture/appliance.  But your right, they're really cool.

Jack, that is pretty dumb, but I have usually seen that type of thing in laundry chutes (plumbing and wiring run through the laundry chute) because ...people are lazy, and that's the shortucut route.

Does the washer drain into the laundry tub?  Floor drain?  Drip pan?  Not the sump pump - I like that color coding.  You can tell what is draining and when!  Heck, you can always bail the washer out by hand.

Kevin - Yep, pretty dumb.

Jay - No laundry tub, drip pan, no sump pump, or close floor drain.  In fact the closet that washer and dryer are suppose to go in (where the connections are) is only large enough for washer and dryer.

Jack, You have to give the guy credit for stupidity. That's a scratch your head and wonder what the heck was this guy thinking moment. Apparently he wasn't thinking.

What!?  That is a perfectly good access to drain.  And if you wanted to put a bathroom in the attic you could have the toilet flush into that drain hole.  Who needs clean clothes

Jim - I agree, any port in the storm.
