I have been planning on creating a HSS (Home Staging Show) that I can publish on my website almost as a commercial for Rockland Home Staging.I thought it would be a great way to market myself and my business. I was trying to think of ways to use HSS as a marketing tool. I was having a mental block on how to do this. I did not want to just list a bunch of before and after photos and write things like Bathroom Before / After but my brain was fried.
Then I watched Becky Fields Home Staging Show which can be seen here:
I'll be honest, at first I was tempted to email Becky and ask if I could just copy her show. (OK I'll admit it - I was having a moment of weakness). It has been a really long week and my creativity meter was on low. So I drank a pot of coffee and got to work. I did not have a specific plan but the beauty of Real Estate Shows is that you can start, just start and see where it will lead you.
You can watch my show here:
As some of you may know I have not updated my website since the day a put it up and I am past due to update it. This should motivate me to get it done! I can't wait to get the show on my site. And now with the release of Real Estate Shows new player people will not even have to leave my site to view the show. The embedded show above should be available from RES soon. Then we will be able to post the shows directly to our websites or blogs. :)
I'm asking anyone who creates a show to link the show and your blog to my original post about RES.
Wow Maureen! I LOVE it!! How will you display it on your website? Are you planning to put it on your first page or in your Portfolio/Gallery? I wonder which would have the best affect? :)
Btw...I have the Poppy art too! Kirklands rocks! I don't have the designer discount....do you? :)
I think I am going to put it on the first page. I'm going to wait until the embedded version comes out.
You should sign up for the discount - I talked to the Design director a while ago. They have agreed to wave some of the requirements to accommodate stagers.
Joelle - You can update your website at any time. Once Jeff gives us the HTML code for the shows you can just email it to Scott. He will add it to your website. I am planning on putting mine on the first page.
Maureen...Will Jeff give us the HTML code only if we request it for a show or is he working on a version that gives us the code after we create? I'm sorry if its been discussed in another post...I might have missed it.
Thanks for the links! I missed that one too! I have the Pier1 just not Kirklands. THANKS!!! :)
Hey Teresa - the code for the player should be available soon - I believe it is going to be available for all shows . Those guys at RES work quickly when they put their mind to do something.
For now you can see what it will look like in my other post about RES.
Okay I am lost, who is Scott, what is embedding? I thought Jeff said all we have to do is recreate our shows now and they will look better? We have to do something more complicated?
Sorry for the ignorance, its been a long, long week.
Karen - The embedded player can be seen in the link above Real Estate Shows + Home Staging = Success. It looks kind of like a YouTube vidoe thing. It just means that people will be able to see the show without clicking a link in your blog or website. Nothing got more complicated. ;)
The comment regarding Scott is for Joelle - we trained with the same company, HSR and the tech guy there is named Scott. Sorry if that one was confusing!
HI Maureen, it's was the first time I've had time to really look at the shows and they are TERRIFIC! An absolutely beautiful addition to a website that would make it stand out! I am wondering if you put it on the first page, will it change your keywords? That's what holding me back from making changes at the moment to my site (and I want to make many), I just don't want to mess up my keywords which bring me up high on the placements I would most like. Thanks for a terrific post, it is definitely something to look into!
Great use of the real estate show. Since I discovered it two years ago I have been using it for many different things and I love tointroduce it to others. I so look forward to the updates.
Sue - You don't like the grungy bathroom??? I know a different photo would have looked better but I was torn between the beginning image and the end one. I went for the bang at the end. I'll keep playing around with it.
Carole - I am not an expert in SEO but I think that search engines do not even read pictures. I don't think that adding a HSS would have any effect on your keywords or SEO.
