I had already written a blog, and went to add some tags, and the blog got eaten^&*()%#$^*$%)())

So...here are some pix of Benicia...a wonderful historic town on the water close to San Francisco!

Capitol

Depot

Gazebo

Sunset

I'm not sure how to format photos on this site...but here are the descriptions.

The first photo is the old State Capitol.  Benicia was the capital of California for about 18 months.  The entire legislature of the state met in this little building, the senate downstairs, and assembly upstairs.

The second photo is the old railroad depot.  Before the bridges were built, railroad cars were ferried across the Carquinez Strait.  The building now is the office of Benicia Main Street program.

The third photo is the gazebo...a popular wedding site and site for many fairs, too.

The fourth photo is the sunset looking towards Vallejo.  We are lucky to have water orientation, and the cool sea breezes!

Let me post this before it gets eaten again!

I format my pictures by sticking them into tables.

I click that little "html" button above the blog I am editing.  It pops up another window.  I then stick in something like this into the second window:

<table>

<td>stuff<br>stuff<br>stuff</td>

<td>stuff<br>stuff<br>stuff</td>

</table>

I put that in once for each picture and then put:

stuff<br>stuff<br>

and then close the second window.

I get something like below:

stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff
stuff

  • I highlight the three lines that say "stuff" in the left hand box of the first row and then insert a picture there.
  • Make sure to fill out the image description and title fields.
  • Click the appearance tab and put "320" in the first box  left of "Dimensions".  and then close the insert picture window.
  • I then use the box to the right of the picture I just put in with "stuff" in it to enter a description of the picture.
  • I then move to the next row of boxes with "stuff" and repeat the process in the above bullets but put the picture on the right and the description on the left.
  • I repeat this alternating the side for the pictures until they are all in there!
  • I then put my signature in where the "stuff" is at the end.
Your above blog entry would look something like the following (feel free to copy it and paste it into your blog if you like).  Others do this differently and you can use the search feature on here to learn more.  By the way, I was born in Vallejo!

East E    I think I kinda got it, but still can't move them around.
sHappy BuyersI don't know why this comes out on the bottom.

Thanks for taking the time for a newbee....I sort of got it......

BTW, it is a small world, isn't it?  The photos are of a condo complex and some happy buyers (except the kid wasn't too happy that day!)

Eileen, when you upload the photo, there is a tab at the top that says "Appearence". You can set your photo to be at the left, right, top, bottom, center, etc. You can also set the size there as well. If you need help with it, you got my number, we can do it over the phone if you like. Great post!  :-)
