I just finished reading The Subprime Solution by Robert J. Shiller. Dr. Shiller is a Yale economics professor, but is better known for co-inventing the Case-Shiller Housing Index that is quoted every month measuring the decline we are currently experiencing.
Shiller's book contains a very readable history of the U.S. housing industry, a look at the current situation, and some proposals for short-term and long-term solutions.
But, you say, why should I waste my time reading an academic's ramblings while I am up to my ______ in alligators trying to keep my real estate business going?????
BECAUSE, this book has some excellent clues about how we as real estate practioners can do a better job. STAY TUNED for my thoughts..................
