The 50th Bob Hope Chrysler Classic is sure to be just as big as the legend himself was. Especially since its host this year is Arnold Palmer! Palmer will host the event January 19-
25, 2009. The golf legend is the perfect choice to host this monumental event. Palmer has played in the Bob Hope Chrysler classic 42 times. Some of his best games were played in this Palm Springs staple of golf tournaments and contributed to Palmer's status as being the fifth on the all time win list. In Coachella Valley Arnold Palmer's name is synonymous with the event. In fact, 62 of his PGAS titles were made in Coachella.
Arnold Palmer won't be the only celebrity out there on the links. He'll be in austere company with the likes of former major leaguer Bo Jackson and Tampa Bay Ray's Rookie of the Year Evan Longoria. But the sports guys aren't the only celebrities hopefully hitting them straight out there. Musicians Michael Bolton and Huey Lewis will also be swinging the clubs. They will be joined by the local celebrity cheering section of the 2009 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Girls, Heather Hastings-Gorski of Indio, Ashley Dewitt from La Quinta and Jamie Lynn Strzelczyk also of Indio. The girls were chosen out of twelve finalists to represent this momentous occasion. No doubt they will be one of the best attractions at the tournament!

This year the 2009 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic has added the Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West to the rotation a first for the tournament. The tournament will be hosted by the Palmer Private Course at PGA West and also included in the rotation for 2009 is Bermuda Dunes Country Club which was one of the original courses to participate in the tournament back in 1960 and La Quinta's Silver Rock Resort which debuted last year.
This special anniversary is sure to be a great golf event and will be remembered for years to come.
