Well after a few weeks of long nights writing code and a few more weeks of testing, I think my new Crystal Coast Rentals by owner site is ready to be released for BETA testing.
So if you own a vacation rental, or other type of rental property go list it for free.
I used a Wordpress blog as the main page, mostly to help with SEO and keeping fresh content on the site. But then I link to pages I created using PHP and MySQL so area rental owners can login and enter their property information. Folks looking for rentals can then search through rentals based on location, or whether they want a vacation rental, or annual rental.
I'm sure there will be a few bugs in the system, as this is my first database driven site. But I think overall it will be well received. Currently I am in need of some properties in the inventory, so it is completely free to list your property, and I provide support via email or telephone. I don't think you can call one of the programmers at vrbo.com and get them to help you list your property. Just one more advantage to listing your rental with me.
It was a fun little project building these pages and the database that drives them. I learned a lot, and next year I will revamp the entire thing, now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing. So get in while you can for free. I don't think it will be free forever.
Boy, I wonder what the big property management companies will think when I have just as many Crystal Coast homeowners listing their property on my new site as they have?
Well my friends at AR wish me luck in this new endeavor, I'm sure going to need it. The rental market is a very competitive niche now days. But I'm confident I can break into it.
