Bad Real Estate Market, Well I'm Just Not Going to Believe It!!

By
Real Estate Agent with KELLER WILLIAMS GREATER OHIO REALTY

Yes, that's Right!  You heard me.  You make a decision what you believe or not and I have decided.  I know, I

heard about the current recession, declining consumer confident, and increasing unemployment rates.  I heard

what this index said and that indicator showed.  Just because RAIN is forecasted, it doesn't RAIN everywhere.

There are some places that actually don't even get wet.  When I look across the horizon I'm seeing blue skies,

maybe a few scattered clouds but not gloom and doom in the news today.  I believe, really, that 2009 will be a

year of great triumphs on every level.  I believe things are are going to get brighter and brighter not darker

and darker.  So be a believer like me.   So cheer up you little "real estate" buckaroos, 2009 is going to be a

great year!

The saying was "Fake it til you Make it"   but now it has changed to "Find it and You'll Make it"    You're right, business is out there and everyone needs to recognise it when it presents itself.  If you've got your gloom and doom blinders on then you'll never see the business coming at you from all over.

Nice post Donna!

Hi Donna.  Yes, some areas in some locations will do well.  Others may have more difficulty.  Just because the news is bad, doesn't mean you can't use it to your advantage.  Good luck.

I agree completely, those that are looking for gloom and doom will find it because most of them will not put forth the time or work to find the positive. Even if it is not as good as the past the ones willing to work will be the ones to find the good, I personally had a good year in 2008 and can't wait for 2009, so we can make it what we will, be it good or bad, personally I am going to make it good by working even smarter and harder.

Donna, nice post!  I love your attitude!  Real Estate is different from other things in the economy, everyone needs a place to live.  Not everyone needs a stock certificate of Walmart stock.  Great job!

I am aware of agents who had their best year ever.  I however can't deny that sales are down and prices are down.  With your positive attitude you will probably do well also.  I have about 5 potential deals this month.  I also plan to have a good year.  I just can't overall deny the whole housing industry.

Donna, you make your market. Best wishes for 2009!

This info may help with your buyes. - interest rates sure makes it more appealing for home buyers & owners considering refinancing and should motivate them. In the article Time to Get Off the Fence and Into a Home, the same message comes in an atricle from NYTimes.com offered by Your Money. Another source with this message was from Smart Money, Time to refinance -- or buy a home? Good information to pass on to our buyers.

Best wishes for 2009!

Good for you! There are two types of people in real estate during markets like this. The ones that sit in the office talking to others how bad the market is and that nothing is selling and the type that left the office and are getting things sold.

You certainly sound like someone who will be selling a lot in 2009! Welcome to the rain and hope to read some of those success stories from you.
