Be Patient... Blogging Success Is Right Around The Corner

We live in a time of instant gratification, text messaging and Twitter. Patience? It seems like no one has them anymore. I know I'm guilty, I walk fast, talk fast and drive fast... If you tell me that I can have it now, I'm in.

Blogging requires patience, finding your voice, developing your skills and determining your path all take time.

Will they like me?

Can they relate to me?

Am I just talking to myself?

I've asked those questions a hundred times...

Then the phone call comes from just the person you've been dreaming about, they feel like they know you and they want to work with you... why? Because you had the courage to be yourself and allowed them to see the real you and you are just what they are looking for, it's scary, but it really is the only way to succeed.

Does blogging take time? Yes

Is it worth it? Absolutely!

Please be patient... Your blogging success is right around the corner.

Debbie, I find it hard to believe I've been blogging for 2 years now. It does work. And results don't take as long as some might think. I think it was a matter of weeks on Active Rain before I got my first email. It's still gratifying.

Wow! It's like you were reading my mind. Still trying to get brave enough to put myself out there and write some blogs. I know I will get there some day.

Sounds like there is hope for newbies like me!!. Thanks for the advice.

Just do it. Talk about what you know. That is the first step in blogging.

Debbie, blogging is not instant gratification. It's like planting a garden, fertilizing, watering and weeding. The best thing to do is keep up the great posts.

Debbie, I couldn't agree more! The people I've met and worked with since blogging have seemed to be a really good fit. If they don't like how I'm presenting myself and my business online, they probably won't like me much better in person! (And I definitely don't want to work w/ anyone who doesn't like me LOL!)

Debbie, this is so true, isn't it? Those of us that have been blogging for what seem like "years," know that to be true - yes? ;-)

Getting that phone call makes it all worth it. I blogged for several months before I got a phone call from a buyer who had been reading my blog.

Debbie, It is so true and when someone calls you because of your blog, it just amazes me. It is a fun feeling.

Debbie - Blogging does take patients. I've been blogging for awhile now and finally seen my site on the first page of Google.

Debbie - Thanks for the tip, like with everything it's about being consistent.

No doubt. It takes a lot of time to get the word out, but once it does it really pays off.

I am a firm believer in blogging and have asked myself those same questions sometimes! KM

I agree it does take time and never worry if they are listening, they are always lurking in the shadows and write the way you are, because if they like you they like you they dont they dont, nothing you can change about that.

Blogging is a search engine's friend, but a buyer or seller's true blue get to know you tool.

Blogging is not the only thing that requires patience. Remember that life is a journey, not an end, so enjoy the journey.

Thank you all for leaving comments... I wrote the post for myself and what happens - more phone calls. A positive attitude can change your life.

It's quite true... it took me a while to receive my first contact this way... and then it became a more common occurence.

Chuck - I agree with you 100% it took a while for me too, but now - I get contacted often, sometimes with just questions, but it can always work out to be something else.

It finally happened for me! A buyer found my blog and he came to Maui to pick out a home - we spent 3 days looking and narrowed it down to a brand new home not even built yet! WHEN it closes, you can be sure I'll be blogging about that!
