Ok, so I'm a typical proud daddy.  I think my daughter is smarter and prettier and all that good stuff than any other kid.

However, I have to say, that from time to time, even she amazes me with what she comes up with...on her own!

The other day, we were at Wal-Mart and we went through the self check out line because it was SO packed!  Well, we checked out and at the end of the transaction, the computer says "AND THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING AT WAL-MART".

First of all, it's something from a computer so I usually just ignore what I hear.  Secondly, we get so caught up in the routine of something like checking out that we just ignore it as well.

Well, not my daughter.  To the delight of the people all around us, the computer said "THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING AT WAL-MART" and she yelled back at it:

"YOU'RE WELCOME!"

You're welcome!

You have instilled some great manners in your daughter.  We all could take a lesson in that a simple thank you and your welcome can make a difference in someones day.

Perhaps she thought there was a real person behind the voice, like at the drive up speaker at a fast food restaurant. Too cute.

What a cute comment.  I was out with a 6 year old (parents were measureing and I was entertaining) today and that kid could read anything!!  He was so smart.  I forget how fast kids learn!!

Aren't kids a hoot.  I just spent a few days with my 2 yr old granddaughter, and I know what you mean about having a mind of their own.  What a delight kids can be.

It sounds like a very cute moment!  I can't wait until mine can actually "talk" with more than sign language.

Ron - being the proud grandparent of two wonderfulgrandsons, I completely understand.  They can be so spontaneous!  Another thought, good for you to have taught her at such a young age to respond!
