Photos from The Mickey Jones Golf Classic for St Jude

I didn't forget! Really! Just so much going on since our events that I've only had time to post a few things. TodayI'm going to pick up all the photo cds to look through them and see the shots our volunteer photographers took, then shoot the cd's up to our St. Jude rep so she can put them on a website. (There are 6 of them I'm sure) I took 700 photos this weekend, just imagine how many our volunteers took!

I can't give you any stats from the Golf Classic, I have no clue who one. I do know one guy, about 25 almost Beat The Pro. At the end of the Classic we were busy printing up the photos of the teams with Mickey to offer to teams for a donation.

A pretty nasty thunder storm interrupted us at the 6th hole and we had to rush back to the "cart barn" to wait out the deluge.

So we just kind of hung around the cart barn for about 30 minutes until the storm BLEW over. (Ever try to drive a golf cart in 30mph gusts?)

Reggie, the lady in charge of tournaments at LPGA thought it best that we go eat while the course dries out a bit after the rain ended instead of at the end of the Classic. Super Idea! The food was too die for! The only problem with that was we lost a lot of golfers as soon as the Classic was over, it was a LONG DAY, they wanted to go home and I don't blame them. Apparently there was some wind damage in some areas and the guys wanted to go check their homes. We made $60.00 on the photos of teams with Mickey. Not bad considering their weren't that many people left.

 We almost had a full field of golfers though and every golfer I spoke said they loved the Classic and would be back to play again next year! It was fun. Mickey played with a few teams on different holes. Every team Mickey played with got a Birdie (if they so needed it) I nick named Mickey Mr. Mulligan. He said it was his Classic and his rules, if he thought someone needed a mulligan, they should get it. The golfers got a kick out of finding Mickey waiting for them at their hole, (even before they learned of the free mulligan's). Mickey didn't want to compete in his own Classic, he wanted to get out with everyone else and meet those that gave up their money and Sunday to come play for the kids at St. Jude.

This was the hole that we used for the Beat The Pro shot. I really wished the sun was out for this photo, the hole was beautiful. (The rain came after I took this). LPGA is a beautiful course!
