Photo taken by Samantha ClarkYes, the "blog post Zen master", as I've been called by a couple of you, now has no more posts saved in his Activerain post well. You see, in the past, I have boasted that I have anywhere between 20-40 posts pre-written, ready to post at any time.

But, today that well ran dry! I wasn't sure what to do. I went to the gym and that certainly didn't help, so ended up watching cartoons with the kids. Then I went to my room and fell asleep on the bed. I'm showing clear signs of depression.

You see, for the past two weeks we have been having very unusual winter weather here. We had 14 days of snow and ice and then major flooding with heavy downpours and snow melt. I like people. I like seeing them, and talking to them, even if it isn't real estate related. I need to be out and about.

New Years Eve was good for me because the weather was good and I got to see other people, but it's hard to talk to drunk people. However it was still nice seeing people and that help me get out of my funk a little bit.

Today the weather looks like it is going to give us a break and I think I will be able to go out and see people and maybe come up with a few posts. You see part of my problem is that I write most of my posts while driving, and in the past three weeks, I've maybe used a quarter tank of gas. That isn't a lot of time in the car where my mind wanders and great posts are born. I did try to sit in the car yesterday without driving to see what would happen, but that didn't work either.

So, hopefully my blogging mojo will come back as the people start to come out of their houses and want to talk again about real estate, or even life.

You can always blog more about your family time as you get cabin fever locked in the house.  Go make some snow angels or even some yellow snow... with food coloring of course!  Happy New Year!

Todd...

Agreed, I need to be around people also. This has been an unusual Holiday Season for us in the Pacific Northwest with all the snow (we're not so used to). I enjoyed the down time, having things a little quiet for awhile after an extremely busy year, but I am feeling a little isolated and ready to get back in the mix.

One of the things I really enjoy, when it comes to blogging, is driving down to Oregon from Seattle. A lot of my friends think it's a boring drive, but I love it. I always make sure my iPod is loaded up with music and podcasts. There's something about being in motion. I let my mind wander and I get to connect and process my thoughts.

Have a great year...

Rene'

As they say, "It happens to the best of them."

I felt the same way when we lived in Massachusetts. Usually it came towards the end of January, first of February. My answer...

MOVE TO FLORIDA!!!

It's been around 80 here for the past couple of weeks and while it's wierd getting into the holiday spirit when you're wearing shorts, it sure beats the heck out of those weary, wintery grey days that don't seem to end up north.

I don't regret it a bit and as far as snow goes, that's what vacations are for. After a week of skiing, sledding, snow mobiling, whatever, it's great to come home to sunny Florida!

Todd, its funny.  I have problems like that too. I was on maxing the posts every week but right after Thanksgiving I just felt blah and couldn't come up with anything.

I hope to see you 40 blogs soon.

I think everyone is busy getting geared up for the new year and all this new business - maybe our minds are alternatively engaged.

Todd- What's the problem?  You ran out of pre-written blogs, so you wrote a post about running out of pre-written blogs.  Next you can write about 2 weeks of snow and contracting "cabin fever."  You can follow that with how ideas only materialize if the car is moving.  Works for me.  ;-)

A day in the sunshine will get those creative juices flowing again...  Come visit us in Florida & take a dip in my pool:) We can trade houses for the weekend... I would love a few days in the snow!

Winter is tough for me too.  I love to be able to just take the kids out without bundling layer upon layer!  Gas is so cheap now, maybe you should just hit the road until you get somewhere warm :)

I'm motivated again this year, but I expired at the end of last year.  It was tough to have that well run dry isn't it?  I had some in the well, but not nearly as many as what you had in your universe of blogging.

Todd, I'm sure you'll get re-inspired!  I tried to warehouse posts, but somehow I never liked the stuff when it came time to use it.  But I'm finding myself really reaching for ideas.

Yep, this weather is getting me down a bit too.  I just got a puppy and I'm potty training and cold, stormy weather isn't helping with that.

Hang in there... the mojo will definitely come back.  Sometimes a break is the perfect cure for blogging block. Oh, and Thank heavens someone else is getting blasted with winter weather besides us!  :)

Todd, your ice will break so to speak. If it gets to be work instead of fun then you may need to take a break for the sake of your psyches and your physical being! Happy New Year my friend. At some point you will awaken to a wealth of words! You take care...stay warm and happy.

Oh yeah, now I remember why I moved from Beaverton to Arizona!  Still have family there, so I have heard about the storms and harsh winter this year.  Looks like the snow has melted and you have your blogging ideas in full motion again.

Todd...I missed this post when you did it...sorry!

OMG, Blog well drought? What a scary thought?

I've developed a "Blog Notebook" of sorts, that has spilled over into another file, because I have so many things to write about! Mine is finding the time to work on all of them! UGH!

I recall someone did a post about posts...maybe you can find it. I know I have a copy somewhere...I'll send it to you!

It's a few days later, but never fear, help is very near!
