Its how things work, you have to light that fuse to make the explosion of business you expect in 2009.

How are you going to get the phone to ring in 2009? It's no secret!

We have all set our goals in 2009, now its time to react. You need your phone to ring or that e-mail to light up your inbox to start the ball rolling.

If you're reading this, you are already ahead of the curve. Your using ActiveRain to gain an advantage, build a positive attitude, and help other realize their goals with your comments.

Look around your office, our numbers are shrinking weekly. We need to work as a group to formulate ways to reach clients and lead them through successful transactions.

The news media has reported for months gloom and doom, but I had a pretty good year in 2008. I'm not the only one in my office and from what I read here on ActiveRain I'm not alone.

In 2009;

  • We need to share what's working!
  • We need to keep our morale up!
  • We need each other!

Let's make 2009, the year where the real estate agent and Realtor become a respected household name...

Paul, I agree.  Open houses have been working surprisingly well for me.  Pop by's to area businesses have garnered me some new clients as well.  There is a whole market of people that have serious questions and concerns regarding real estate and I have been found to be their only source of information.  My attitude is positive and it's easier to seem positive since so many are negative.  Great suggestion!

I with you.  My year was whacky because I was in transition and then relocated to a new state to start over from scratch.  But I PERSONALLY know MANY people who have had PHENOMINAL years.

Mark, It's been long time. I know you have the right attitude to succeed. I was in Ahwatukee in November and noticed that Open Houses were well attended. Just go positive Mark...

MORNING PAUL!  Despite receiving emails everyday from agents that are leaving the business - I continue on and had a decent 2008 as well - though slow toward the end.  Regardless, what seemed to work for me - sending hand written notes and surprising certain clients with gifts throughout the year!  I am keeping tabs of what is working for me in 2009 and hope to share it -- SOON!  --Gabrielle

Gabrielle, That's the attitude we need in 2009! Hand written notes is a very tried and true method of getting to both our sphere and our possible clients...

Great post and so true for the challenging times in which we are living.  I really feel this is the opportune time to start growing your business.  I have been workign on my websites pretty solid for the last few months.  I am already seeing some great results.

Paul ~ Excellent advice as always.  I had a great 2008, I was down 1 million from the year before, but still a good year.

Kathy, You do have to weigh market conditions and a election year with so many having a wait and see attitude. Only a million down is really good by most standards...Spin it positive!
