I sincerely hope that you and yours had a wonderful New Year' Eve and Day and are energized for this prosperous New Year!  Wake Forest rang in the New Year with grand fanfare!  I didn't get to go in person but I was able to see the fireworks from my deck - BEAUTIFUL!

Wake Forest Historical Association Meeting - The 1909 Birth of Wake Forest
Sunday, Jan. 11; 3 pm
Wake Forest Town Hall
Mayor Vivian Jones will be the speaker for the first 2009 meeting of the Wake Forest Historical Association, and her theme will be the 1909 birth of the town as the Town of Wake Forest. Since 1880, it had been the Town of Wake Forest College. The change was partly or perhaps wholly to allow the town government to build an electric power plant. The meeting will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, in town hall, and all area residents are invited to attend. There will be refreshments and a short business meeting to elect the association's officers. President Beverly Whisnant has agreed to continue in that capacity as have the rest of the current officers. The 2009 dues of $10 per person can be paid at the meeting.

Leesa,

I think that the Art After Hours sounds like a fun evening.  Have a good time if you can get Jon away from the drums long enough to go.  ;-)
