Starting Mid January builders will not longer be allowed to offer incentives with the use of their lender.  I think this is the right thing to do.  I don't think that a buyer should have to use the builder's lender to get the incentives.  The incentives should be given regardless of what lender is used.   Read the full article here: http://www.builderonline.com/mortgages-and-banking/new-for-2009-hud-bans-incentives-for-using-affiliated-lenders.aspx
