Has Your Market Picked Up?

The Holiday Season was slow for me, as it normally is. It was a little more scary this year because of the economy issues. However, things have seem to pick up for me since last Friday, January 2. The phone has been ringing and I have had appointments. It is just what I needed to pick me up.

Don't get me wrong, I have kept a positive attitude through the slow season. But the phone ringing is giving me more motivation and positive energy to go out there and get that listing or sale.

Has anyone else seen an increase in activity in their area? I would like to hear your feedback.

Our business (Frederick MD) is picking up. Phone calls, 1 offer, 1 buyer from last summer who likes the new interest rates better! Several new lookers on our IDX. Our LO is telling us Spring is going to be pretty good, lots of pre-quals. (He also tells us we should put some of it away, because he's not so hopeful about the second half of the year.) Oh well, I'll celebrate it whenever it comes!

ON the loan side of things we're pretty busy in Bellevue WA, just hoping rates really do hit 4% so all of these refinances decide to close! I'm not a huge fan of this intervention by the Fed but apparently they've decided it's worth the disruption long-term in order to get things going in the now. And hey, who doesn't want a 4% 30-year fixed rate loan!!! Purchases are picking up too, buyers seem to be ready to get beyond the fear and into the market. Hi Carol, Yes interest is picking up, people who have been looking for a while, are making offers! The "new" calls are still a little slow, but I think that is normal for this time of year. Wait until spring !! WOOHOO !!

None of the Realtors I've spoken with here in the Poconos are noticing a market pickup. Most say we have the houses just no serious buyers. Counting on this year being better as things start to calm down a bit and the dust gets to settle.
