One of my goals with Active Rain is to maintain dominant on any GOOGLE search.  When I mean dominant I want a minimum of 5 of my listings on an area Google search.  Outside of a typical website posting, I achieve this by posting listings through Active Rain and Localism.  The best results come from using AR or Localism with a Podcast.  I really don't know why podcasts are more appealing, but they do gain more attention and get better hits and stronger rankings.  For example you can Google Inshore Austin or Inshore Austin River Place to see the domination that we get from multiple services.  Below are a couple of the blogs and podcasts posted, but you can do the same through a Google search.

I do receive negative feedback from agents by posting listings as they do not like seeing listings posted up from areas that they could care less about.  I understand their feelings, but the bottom line is that it brings me phone calls and emails.  I had 2 emails directly from Active Rain today (not sure if that was from AR or Localism).

Guys...this is powerful stuff.  This takes but a few minutes and you are on top of a Google search.  Last month, I posted a holiday event for a neighborhood that was really poorly done, but the next 3 days it was listed as number one for the Google search for the community name.  I went back and checked my website and the post had my website beat 5:1 on clicks.  I really don't know a whole lot.....but I do know when something works, run with it.

So, sorry in advance to those that do not like listings posted on AR through Localism.  It is not done for points, it is done for results.  Heck go to my neighborhood, River Place and I will be everywhere on multiple pages.  Depending on how up to date I am with my posts, will determine my ranking.

THIS IS NOT A WASTE OF YOUR TIME!  This is the greatest branding source you can get for the money.  How much is AR????   Last I looked it was pretty cheap....somewhere in the ZERO range.  Don't know about you but zero is good.  Put a $2000 ad in the paper (my seller's paid for it) and where did I get a call......from AR not from the ad; moreover I have not received one call and the ad has been run 3 times.  That is $6000 to zero and zero calls to one call and multiple clicks which helps me brand myself.

I think it boils down to creativity. If you can think of ways to change it up and get it on Google you will do well.
