Charlestown Subdivision Springfield VA

Hear Ye, Hear Ye.  Do you love all brick homes with plenty of trees and fantastic back courtyards?  How about "dramatic" curved staircases?  How about a 4 BR and den townhouse with over 2500 SF?  Then the Charlestown Community in West Springfield is one you shouldn't miss.  Having lived in Charlestown for a number of years, knowing the schools, the commuting routes throughout the area and the local shopping, helps give me the inside scoop on the neighborhood.

Commuting to the Pentagon is as simple as stepping outside your door and walking 2 to 3 blocks to Forrester Blvd. If you aren't picked up by a commuter looking for slugs then you can grab the 18G Metro Bus. If you take the 7:18 bus you will be at the Pentagon at 7:50. How great is that? If Fort Belvoir is your destination then the commute is also 30 minutes or less depending on stoplights!

Sales this year in Charlestown continued to be strong. The total number of sales was down slightly from 22 homes sold to 15 but prices have not seen a dramatic drop.  For example the Concord Model, the largest in the community in 2007 sold for $464,000 and this year a Concord model sold for $465,000.   Two of my clients, both military families loved the ease of getting to the Pentagon and the look and feel of the neighborhood and decided to make Charlestown their home in 2008.

Pat-having picked up slugs for a number of years myself in Springfield, it really is a civilized process.  In Charlestown one of my neighborhoods was picked up almost every morning on Forester Blvd and rarely had to take the bus to the Pentagon.  Free rides are great.
