It appears that I cannot get by without being caught! There is always something "more" that I need to reveal about "me." This time, it's SEVEN things...yep, seven!  WHO came up with THAT number? My dear friend, Candace Robinson, in Gilbert, Arizona, decided that she didn't know quite enough and tagged me to share seven things no one knows. Being the good friend that I am, I acquiesced. Grudgingly! Just for the record!

FIRST:  I'll bet you didn't know - or remember - that I met and spoke with Elvis Presley! Yep, went to h
Elvisis home with umpteen other women, and "he" sought me out to visit with. Reason why? I wasn't clamoring all over him! I was impressed, but being the cool 22 year old that I was, didn't let on. ;-)

SECOND:  When I was growing up - being the oldest of seven girls and one boy (he was the sixth) - and very misunderstood as a young girl and teenager - I ran away from home - a lot. I actually found some cool bushes or trees down the street and had my siblings bring me food and a few towels and blankets...and I made a very neat fort - just steps from home. ;-)

THIRD:  I learned how to swing dance with one of my sisters, and later on
dancemet my husband on the dance floor in Long Beach, California. When we were in high school - decades ago - during the lunch hour, we would dance. The boys that could dance? well - ladies, need I say more? My husband is a marvelous ballroom dancer, swing dancer and country western two stepper. How lucky am I? ;-)

FOURTH: In my 20's - when the twist was popular - I was living the single life in Californai - and entered AND won many twist contests. So much so, that I was invited to be a Twistette....;-)  We dressed in black leotards, black net stockings, and fringe around the bottom of the leotard.  We would then perform in different night clubs in Santa Monica and the San Fernando Valley. That was a fun moment in the past. I can still twist, though very carefully. ;-)

FIFTH:  Before I chose real estate as a profession, I worked in the legal field for 25+ years - first, as a legal secretary, then as a paralegal. I went to school (financed by my boss) and received my certification. After leaving that office, I work freelance from my home and in law offices in the Los Angeles area. I published a Legal Secretary newsletter - and actually had a few subscribers. I was asked to speak at legal secretarial association meetings, and held learning conferences in hotel conference rooms. At one time, I think there were in excess of 400 in attendance though I preferred the one on one with 6-10 people.

SIXTH:  I grew up at 35th Street and McDowell in Phoenix, Arizona. My dad had a Schwinn bicycle shop.  My first - and last - brand new bike - was stolen,
bicycleand I always had a used bike after that. My dad built a basement home, and we lived in the two bedroom, one bath until after my brother was born - number 6.  Later on, he built the top part - when I was about 12. Boy things are sure different these days, huh? People want to buy a home with a room for each child....gone are the good old days. ;-)

SEVENTH:  Okay, I'm digging here. HOW interesting can all of this be? As a final insight into "me," I am very honest, love to laugh, love working real estate, love to learn, would like to have a Master's Degree in something, and I love my husband and my children/grandchildren. I am very grateful for every blessing, and each day is a wonderful day to enjoy.

How's THAT for every single dingle thing to know about me - and more? When you've lived as long as "I" have, there is definitely more and more to know. ;-)

For any of you that WANT to disclose seven unknown things about YOU, this is an open invitation. Just let me know when you write it, 'cause I, for one, want to read it. ;-)

Teri, I just think you playing coy with Elvis attracted him to you was such a cool fact. But you landed a better man in your husband anyway. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Teri: You're always such a fun and interesting read. You know, I was a perpetual runaway, too. Just wanted to be on my own and away from the establishment, man. LOL. (and no, no more memes for me, please, no -- see, I know you're thinking it.)

Great insight on you Teri !

How nice of your siblings to bring you food and supplies ... I wonder if they ever told your mom and dad where you were ?!?!?!

... and I'm aswing/jive dancer too, I actually used to teach it in Manhattan ...so I can relate to how much fun that is to let loose on the dance floor once in a while... how great that your husband dances too !

OK, I knew there was another reason I really really liked you! I am a huge Elvis fan and even met one of his guitar players a couple years ago. (He plays at a club here in Portland a lot)

I also have the news paper from the day he died from Memphis. Sad paper and a sad day for a 7 year old Elvis fan.

I knew about your honesty already!

Carol Lee, thank you. I knew you meant it as a compliment. ;-)

Margaret, I'll be by to check your's out....;-) love reading about OTHER people. ;-)

Candace, thank you for inviting me to do this.....though I dislike talking about myself, this was fun. ;-)

Jennifer, exciting - well, guess I've had some exciting moments....

Katerina, this is about as juicy as it gets - at least in a public forum. ;-)

Bill, it was cool, and he was extremely gentlemanly.  Very courteous, and though I was a bit intimidated, I never let on. ;-)

Gary, coy? me? Yep...exactly - and it worked. And yes, landed a wonderful man....;-) Would not exchange him for ten Elvis's! ;-)

Elizabeth, ME? You think I would ask you to share? C'mon.....actually, I DID think of you. ;-) I love reading your off the cuff posts and comments as well. Sounds like we would enjoy being around each other. ;-)

Sheldon, my siblings were good to me, and they still are. They were actually jealous 'cause they had to stay home and do dishes, etc. ;-) They've never let me live it down.

Todd, you were SEVEN and an Elvis fan? He was very good at what he did, and I still remember how handsome he was to this day. It was a disappointment when I saw how the drugs changed his looks. Such a shame.

Guys seriously underestimate the power of being able to dance.  If they knew, they'd be flocking to dance halls.

Terri,

Grest MeMe.  You are, as stated above always a great read.  Sounds like you have had a lot of fun and more fun is on the way.  I wished my hubby was a dancer, but he is a good cook, so I guess I still did great!  : )

Teri, I really do enjoy reading MEME's -- not writing them.  I don't think I have anything else to share.  Anyway, I loved reading yours -- I'm envious that you got to meet and sit and talk to ELVIS!  I'm still an Elvis fan.  Aren't you lucky to have found such a great husband who also dances!  My husband is an excellent dancer too.  :)
