"All the right moves"!
In today's Charlotte Observer there were three articles about Charlotte, O.K. Duh, there are articles everyday about Charlotte, but two of these were about the CLT Airport being nations fastest growing and having fares falling from the sky. But more about that in the next day or two.
Today's other article was about, "Charlotte named a City of the Future". What I liked about the article was the fact is was not just the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce shooting off it's mouth...
"Yea, great things are happening, blah, blah, blah..."
But this was actually backed by an independent magazine fDi.
So to get down to some of the meat and potatoes, of the article, it said Mecklenberg County is "popping like fireworks" with all the new job growth. 3,500 jobs added last month.
It also said we are No. 1:
"Quality of life" "Economic Potential"#3 in "Best development and investment promotion"
#5 in "Human Resources"
With stats like that I am surprised we are ranked only #3 overall by Financial Times. So who beat us in the category of Large U.S. Cities (500,000 to 2 million people), El Paso, Texas and Columbus, Ohio.
So just to throw some more stats at you - the chamber annouced we have businesses investing in expansion $881.1 million, which is the second highest quarter EVER. The record was set in first quarter of 2006 with $993.9 million.
All I can say is, "Business is booming, get your butt here and make some of that yours!!!"
