The annual Upstairs Downtown Tour will take place on May 4, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.                          

Visitors will get a chance to see some of the unique urban living and working spaces in the in the upper stories of downtown buildings, some of which have not been open to the public for years.  In 2003, CARA (Central Albany Revitalization Area) decided to tackle the barriers associated with redeveloping the unused upper floors by offering financial assistance and building guidance. The use of upper floor space was halted in the 1960's according to local business owners, for reasons that are unknown.

Albany Businesses and restaurants will be open during this event, and the trolley will be running.
