(This has been sitting as a draft for a while, time to release it to the world.)

SEVEN THINGS YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT AN ACTIVERAIN DEVELOPER BUT WERE AFRAID TO ASK

  1. Video game fanatic.  Just about weekly for the past 10 years, I've purchased a video game, and then grown tired of it in days. Only a select few have retained my interest for years (like Team Fortress 2 and Dwarf Fortress.) I like to think I just have elevated tastes, but apparently I only like games with forts.
  2. ActiveRain gives me with an unbelievable amount of creative freedom, even for a startup. I'd love to take advantage and implement some of my wilder ideas (surprise!), but fear embarrassing them if it turns out poorly.
  3. I use punctuation in instant messenger and SMS messages.  It probably alienates people.
  4. I don't blog much.  Mostly I'm tired, but also because I'm terrified I'll spill something secret, like specifics about the work I'm doing on Localism, or worse, say something dumb like, "I like Tequila!" (which I do.)
  5. I curse a lot.  I don't think it bothers people much.  I also enjoy mentioning things that clearly make Jorgen uncomfortable, like the prospect of peeing in the office sink.
  6. For my entire teenage and college years, I wanted to either be a pro-skateboarder or a computer programmer.  I'm glad I exerted myself on both fronts.
  7. It takes me forever to come to a decision on anything, no matter how trivial. "Think we should put this form element here?" "Hold on, I need to make some diagrams."

LOL.  I find it hard to write, without puctuation.

btw: welcome to Ar as a new hire even though it's seemingly been over 4 months now.

Sincerely, Castellum Realty
