Managing my Blog Time

Have you set you blogging goals for 2009? Here is my plan, and I'm sticking to it.

1. Write at least one blog post per day.

2. Spend no more than 1 hour per day writing. And no more than 30 minutes reading other blogs. Use a timer, and write first, read later.

3. Review 2 of my old posts every day for keywords and links to other blogs to improve my SEO.

4. Simplify my blog, take out any widgets that aren't absolutely necessary.

5. Focus on topics that help educate my clients. (home repair, market conditions, decorating trends, community news, school zone changes)

My inspiration for this came from Leo Babauta and his post

Thanks for sharing-you are right we need to set goals. This gives me something to do.

Good plan - especially about reviewing old posts. Hard to find time for everything, but small chunks might be managable!

Great plan, I seem to spend more time than necessary reading, so I am going to set a goal as well and bring out the timer!

Thanks for the ideas to get started. We need to set our goals for 2009 as it is already here and I feel behind already. 2009 will be a great year in real estate...I feel it. We all need to be as prepared as possible to be as efficient as possible. Thanks again.

Amber - I'm like you, I can spend hours reading all of the great posts, but I need to be sell homes.

I had to cut back my blogging time about 3 months ago when my wife told me I was spending too much time here on Activerain.
