I'm looking forward to attending my first office meeting of the year, especially since nobody has been in the office for three weeks or so. That's one of the amenities I enjoy at Lyon Real Estate -- working in a large top-producing Midtown Sacramento office, surrounded by smart, funny and hardworking agents who swap stories and share tidbits of their day-to-day challenges.
One of the items on our agenda this morning most likely will be a review of 2008. For many people in this economy, 2008 wasn't a good year, but for me it was. 2008 was my best year ever, and I worked my tail off by adjusting to the falling market and responding to my clients' needs. Last year I hit all the usual targets that are used as a measuring stick for performance.
Master's Club -- I'm a continuing member of the Sacramento Association of Realtors' Master's Club, which means I had to sell at a minimum of eight homes and hit a particular sales volume. For 2008, it was pretty low, only $3 million, so most of us made that price point early on in the year. I'd like to give recognition to another Lyon agent, however, who blogs regularly on Active Rain -- Erin Attardi. She works in our Sierra Oaks office and also earned Master's Club status.
Also, Paula Swayne, another Active Rain blogger from Sacramento, retained her Master's Club status, but that's not surprising because Paula is a hardworking real estate agent, too. Do you know that Paula also sculpts bronze statues of animals and pets? She is an extremely talented individual. In fact, I'm going to hire her to make a sculpture of my 18-year-old cat. Paula works at the Windermere Dunnigan office on Freeport.
Both Erin and I achieved the top rank a Lyon Real Estate agent can achieve for production in 2008, that of Senior Executive Associate. I'm betting, though, that after the 2008 numbers are finalized, Erin will have inched above me in the number of units sold. And let me tell you, that's a lot of houses!
Congratulations, Paula and Erin. It's been a tough year for some agents, but you two have not only hung in there, you've turned in an amazing year of performance and finished on top. I'm honored to be your associate.
