With the coming State Of The City address, Mayor plans to launch "Mission Verde."

As with all mayors these days, Mayor Phil Hardberger is facing the tough challenges of balancing budgets, keeping workers at work, and running a city that is growing everyday.  In his State Of The City address he is poised to place San Antonio at the forefront of green technology.  In laying out the groundwork, he will probably also go down in history as one exceptionally forward thinking mayor.  I applaud his efforts and welcome the goals that our city can be greener, more efficient, and less wasteful.  Let's bring jobs to our community with new initiatives and help show people how they can afford green technologies thanks to tax breaks, incentives, and the reduction in their utilities.

I encourage you to read the article by Greg Harman for more on the Mayor's plans.

I follow Greg on Twitter and have always found his tweets to be interesting, but recently after connecting with him via another post, I have taken more of an interest in his writing.  This article for the SA Current is a must read for anyone interested in politics, environmental issues, San Antonio, or transportation.

If you want more information on "Mission Verde" please read Greg's article and spread the message far and wide.  Let's make San Antonio a shining example of how "green" can be done.
