Balanced Rock in Arches Natinal Park, Moab, Utah
How'd you get that up there? It reminds me of Stonehenge and they're still trying to figure that one out.
Randy: This kind of reminds me of my life these days. Tenuously balanced but not very stable. Perhaps you could have Paul Simon's song "I Am A Rock" playing in the background ?? Thanks for sharing.
It's always fascinating to see natural wonders like this. If you took this picture, you are one darned good photographer.
Randy, It is really amazing what happens in nature isn't it? Throughout my travels, I have seen so many wonderful things such as this. I hope that things like this will be preserved for ages. Thanks for sharing... ~~Michael
Amazing photo. I've been fortunate to travel through Utah and most other states several times, we are blessed with many visual wonders. Thanks for sharing.

Randy, it never fails to amaze me how these types of rock formations stand like they do. Great photo!
Richard,
It is actually quite large. You can walk around it and it takes a while. I am always a little nervous it will fall on me if I get too close.
Karen,
Great suggestion, I like Paul Simon. And yes I think we all feel a little like you said these days things are tenuous.
Randy, great picture---and better late than never in this case:) Those things do come down. One of the most famous arches collapsed last year. As amazing as those structures are, what is even more impressive to me is that all the spaces between them used to be filled with ground.
Pacita,
Thank you, I did take this picture. Sometimes luck is on our side. The moon was in the right place. Sun was setting and our timing was just right.
Michael,
It is amazing to me how many things there are to see in this world of ours. This balanced rock is not far from Delicate Arch which is the arch used in much of Utah's advertising and is even on alot of our license plates. You can see tons or arches in Arches National Park. One big one fell last year during the night. They won't be here for ever.
Randall,
Cool name! Thanks I will continue to post pictures like it. I have quite a few in my files.
Trey,
Alot of people travel through Utah and never get to stop and see the beauty and unique landscapes. Sounds like you were able to see some of them. Amazingly there are alot of Utahns who have never seen these places.
Michael S,
Thanks, I agree there are some incredible natural phenomenons. It is great to stop and take in the beauty around us. Thanks for the compliment.
Charles,
So true, they do come down. It has taken years and years for these to form. I am glad to say I was able to see the one that came down before it came down. Some of them look so fragile.
Gorgeous picture! I was lucky enough to go visit this area of our great state a few years ago and I can't wait to get back!
Thanks for sharing!

Very cool. What a unique picture. Looks like God was expressing more of his creativity in your neck of the woods =)
Kim,
It is amazing it is so close and yet it is so far away. I think I have made 4 trips to Arches in my almost 50 years. We have so much to see in Utah. Thanks for your comment.
Lisa,
Indeed, we have so many beautiful places to see. Arches is among my tops in Utah. Thanks for your kind comments.
Wow....this is really beautiful! I haven't been to Utah since I was 8 years old, and I don't remember much about it.
Randy, Moab's Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Board should put you on salary! I never tire seeing great photos of the State that I love!
