Save a tree.....E-Contracts

There are new web based programs that allow all of your contracts to be saved and signed online. The software I use allows you to store all of your contracts and have them signed online by email. Our title company offers it here and it works very well for the internet savy customer.

It also can all be accessed by the title company which allows for a seamless closing. Do you or your title company have similar web-based contract programs? Our title company uses CTM eContracts.

Dan, you bring up an excellent question. I will have to check with my Title company on that. I have been scanning my documents and emailing them myself to cut down on paper. Title Companies run a very fine line in what they can do and not do that might show as conflict in their relationship with agents. My Title Company is extremely cautious about that. However, I will bring this up to them and see if in fact they do offer it.

I think that our contracts soon will be able to be eGREEN...but as of today, we still are required to have "original" copies on paper....do you see a change in this attitude in the near future?

Dan, I use Relay for a transaction management system, they have another e-sign service. Some title companies accept, some don't. As a notary signing agent, it makes it much easier to just give them the CD.
