A couple things to consider if you are late on your mortgage payments. .

Your credit cards. .cut them in half!. . If you are not paying your mortgage because you have spent unwisely and still have the same employment, then your only hardship is your spending habit. .it is important that you seek credit counseling immediately and possibly assistance in setting up a budget to pay off your creditors.
Contact a mortgage broker. While most people believe that they may not be able to help you, there are many lenders who are agreeable to risky deals. The broker may be able to find you a better interest rate or maybe incorporate longer terms in order to help you through these difficult times
