Everyone has a default search engine (Google, Yahoo, Live Search, etc) for their browser (Internet Explorer). This allows a person to type their criteria of what they are searching for in their browser address bar. Their default search engine will then provide them the results.

Whether you want to try a new search engine or change it back to your previous search engine, you can easily change your default search engine.

How do you change your default search engine?

Below are the simple steps to change your default search engine in Internet Explorer:

1. Open Internet Explorer
2
. Under Tools located on the menu bar > select Internet Options
3. Under Search (Change Search Defaults) > Select Settings
4. Select your desired search engine
5. Select Set Default
6. Select OK to exit the Search Settings
7. Select OK to exit the Internet Options settings.

Make it a great day!

Jamie - THis is good information. I know a lot of computers come out of the box with msn or live search set up at the default. Most peopl prefer google or yahoo.
