Jesus Christ Superstar
January 16th - 8 PM in the Majestic Theatre
Show runs January 16th thru January 18th.
JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, the first masterpiece from Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, exploded onto the scene in 1971, introducing a new kind of musical theatre. With a score of songs that should be familiar to almost everone, "I Don't Know How to Love Him", "Hosanna", "Everything's Alright", "What's the Buzz", "Superstar", and "Heaven on Their Mind", this original production seems to be as popular as ever.
Jesus Christ Superstar focuses on the last seven days of the life of Christ, especially the personalities and humanity of Judas, Pilate, and others involved during that week.
For almost four decades native Texan Ted Neeley has played Jesus Christ in the landmark musical. Ted is also a rock and roll drummer, singer, actor, composer, and record producer. He is probably best known for both his vocal range and for performing the title role in Jesus Christ Superstar, both live and in the 1973 film version. Ted and his family still reside in Texas.
