6 Comments on Definition: What is a Sandpoint Well
Well isn't that interesting! Hopefully we can get together for that tour when I get back from Texas the week of the 20th! -)
LOL, I always see that 'Sandpoint' checkoff on the MLS data input sheet and never really knew what the heck one was. Today I found a home in Deroche that actually has a 'Sandpoint' water source. So the quick self-tutorial ensued...
You're off again!? They are working you like a rented mule!
Scott- Where are you located at? In our town, we have a law that says that all lawns must be watered from a well or from a lake or canal. No city water for lawn watering. We get water when you go down about 4 feet here! We are at sea level! Our water aquafills are very shallow and that is drinking water too:) We have a reverse osmosis system for our whole house.
Katerina in the oasis of British Columbia, especially along the coast, water is plentiful, sometimes too plentiful for weeks on end and in torrents that makes Easterners get melancholy for snow.
In the coastal temperate rainforests of B.C., large mountain lakes of fresh water flow from protected watersheds in the mountains just north of the Lower Mainland and Lower Fraser River Valley to provide the bulk of British Columbia's coastal population with water.
Elsewhere in the province the rocky terrain make Sandpoints difficult to use except for agricultural purposes in fields but they are very rare if not non-existent in the Vancouver area. The rural interior of British Columbia's drinking needs are mainly served by true, dug or drilled wells of depth, the water quality in the interior can very greatly from acidic to alkaline butis rarely trully contaminated.
The well at my Cabin in Tulameen British Columbia has a 35' dug well with exceptional water that flows underground in an old river swail from the clear clean waters of the Tulameen river 1 block away. Filteration of this water would never be considered.
We take water for granted around these parts due to it's seemingly endless supply so your comments should remind us all of how lucy we really are here.
Great info blog! Found in very useful when needing a quick reference. Thanks!
your welcome Teal!
