The Blue-Ribbon Award winning, number one high school in the state, Millburn Senior High School may teach the basics of math and science, but the knowledge that residents share in the township of Millburn/Short Hills is a deep understanding of culture. Perhaps it is the proximity to New York City that makes property owners in the township of Millburn/Short Hills so aware of culture and global trends. One way in which community members share culture with each other is through Janice Cummins Petite Ecole.
Janice Cummins Petite Ecole is a French language school that was established roughly thirty years ago. She has been located at 321 Millburn Avenue in the heart of the town of Millburn since 1981. Cummin's language school was one of the very first French language schools available to children that was inspected and endorsed by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York. Cummins has a degree in French language and literature, along with experiences as a foreign language teacher at the secondary level, and she wanted her two children to learn French. Cummins explained that she was inspired to create the school thirty years ago when there were not many opportunities present for young children to study another language.
Cummin's excellent institution is a wonderful reflection of the values endorsed by the community of education and cultural understanding. New homeowners will appreciate that property in the township of Millburn/Short Hills comes with residents who will seek to broaden their cultural boundaries.
