Great Localism post. We have a small library in our community that is well supported and also has a loan program with the Downtown Austin Library so you can get anything available. Ours is very busy and they have a fun thing they do when you check books out. Each time you get a receipt for the book and the price it would be a the local book store along with a running tally of the books checked out through the year! By the end of 2008 we had saved just over $4,800!
I love looking at pictures and reading about Lake Ridge - it reminds me in many ways of Pinehurst - feels almost like home!
Russell That is cool - I'm sure the bookstores don't support that idea :) Karen
Linda I'm pleased you enjoy the Lake Ridge pictures and info, When you've lived in a community as long as we have you know where to take pictures, Karen

Great post for Localism! It is always great to know what is located in or near a neighborhood. A library is an incredible asset for knowledge.
Jim Thank you for visiting. It's very simple to write about a community when you've lived in it for 26 years, Karen
