My day started off ok and proceeded to get worse as it went along. Ever have those days? For me I labeled it as a day where one was
Drowning In A Sea of Meaninglessess.
I will explain that here shortly. But remember when days don't go as planned there are lessons to be learned and perhaps corrective steps to take to fix things or at least give you a better understanding if it happens again to you.
I have been blessed or cursed depending how you look at it with big picture assessment of things. I can figure out the whole view of things very fast, while others get completely mired in the details.
That being said, the first part of my day had me overhearing agents talking about other people in their lives. Idle gossip. Nothing to be proud of or wanting to be around. NOT meaningful at all to me. Next, the talking heads on the radio discussed ad nauseum whether this designated Illinois senator should be seated or not having been appointed by the impeached governor. How this affects my life I am not sure? Toss that story aside. Then there's the phone spammers that get your cell phone number off the Internet and track you down and they swear they can increase your business web site search engine optimization, if you only come up with the dough monthly for them. Then flipping through some TV channels I land on the brainless Bachelor TV show, where this guy eliminates 15 of 30 totally beautiful women, and the rejected ones have to understand what was wrong with them. This show is on a third grade level or below. How do I get that Bachelor job anyway?
Meaningless, nonsensical images and messages fill our times these days it seems. It must be we have so many sources of information and the rapid speed it is delivered to us. Plus everyone is trying to make a buck, so for entertainment sake anything is fair game, relevant, intelligent or not.
The lesson to be learned is to remember what is important to you. Remember what you are trying to accomplish today.
Focus on your stuff.
Tune out their stuff.
Do not drown in water from someone else's pool. It can hurt your head sometimes what comes at you. But you be in control. Screen calls that you don't return. You have my permission.
In life you were meant to breathe.
