A considered response to "Its the Staging Stupid."
You know what? The world's newest profession is one that 'trend forward' realtors will come to embrace in a flat hurry. The reason they will come around is that with inventory being an all time high and sales slowing, they Have to get smarter and more creative. Photos, real estate shows, virtual tours will force the most intransigent, stubborn, resistant-to-change realtor to buck up and get real! Two houses of the same price ,in the same neighborhood, one staged and sparkling, and one cluttered and dirty, what is the question? Buyers have choices and lots of them. We have bought and sold all kinds of property over the last 15 years and I can tell you that when I find a good realtor I stick with them forever. Realtors need to recognize that stagers are the sharpest knife in the drawer and an indespensible selling tool. Stagers get around and they hear all kinds of things about real estate agents, and as far as I am concerned, I don't repeat what I hear unless it is something good. If I am asked to recommend a realtor, I don't hesitate. If I am asked about a particular realtor, and I know they are not a good recommendation, I just recommend someone I know without making comment on the one I would not recommend. It's called old-fashioned discretion, and from what I have seen on AR, I think the member stagers feel the same. Discretion, talent, work ethic, training all contribute to the value of stagers.
