I did a count for our office and we have about 35 people out of 100+ people who are registered on ActiveRain.  Out of the 35 only 10(less than) have a score above 700, and 50% of those will not actively post.

What about the 25 people who have lower scores.  I know they don't post, I will wager they have forgotten their password maybe even their user-names.

If you are a registered user

  • you should post.
  • you comment.
  • you should grow your presence on the web
otherwise you wasting an oportunity to earn some advertising presence through the internet.

I think it looks worse if you have not posted because everything is so generic people think you are brand new in the business or you don't know what you are doing or you are out of the business.

Love the post, I feel to join AR is to have the intent to network and blog, and to share & hopefully be inspired... :)

Yes indeed you should blog and comment, don't worry about the others, they will be eating your dust as you blog pass them to more customers on the web. Then they will be standing there wondering what happened?

I advocate the inactivation of one's profile if they don't use AR for a period of time (maybe 3 months).   I would also go as far as to delete their profile after 1 year, unless they contribute something....

Essentially, I'd like to see a cleanup of the system to eliminate the non-entities.

Hi David;

I agree with you, I introduced many agents in my office to Active Rain, some are members but need and should blog and comment on other bogs.

Dear David,

I don't know if you are a broker, sales manager, or an agent. If you are an agent, don't worry about it. Your standing will be higher in your area.

If you are a broker or sales manager, you need to train these folks a bit.

Easiest--beef up the profiles!

Next--start commenting on blogs.

This is much easier than writing one, but it gives you experience!

David,

It's a shame that so many people who sign up don't take advantage of a great medium that ActiveRain is. This is as good as it gets for Internet marketing and exposure.

Hi David, I totally agree with you.  AR is a great way to make increase one's online presence as well as make connections with some great people out there.  I'm still pretty new at this myself but have learned quite a few things already.  I hope more agents will discover and utilize this valuable resource.

David- So true. I have been here for months and ever so slowly have been moving long. This year I am challenging myself to do even more. Have fun and keep posting and commenting.

David,

I do agree with you.  Although some people are on here and may not be too active it could be due to a few reasons.  Some people might have signed up to try it out and just did not take the time to learn and explore everything.  I am still new to AR but so far what I have found has been great information.  More people should be active on here.

However, don't summarily dismiss them. They might be working a different Internet site, like Linked In or Merchant Circle. I recommend that my Clients refrain from trying to be everywhere at the same time, thereby spreading themselves too thin. Pick 3-5 things, and do them better than anyone else rather than picking 35-50 things and not doing any of them well.

I think most people only stumble upon Activerain and are never giving the direction or the education on how to really use it. I think if they had been they certainly wouldn't stop posting or commenting, because they would realize that it can be one of the biggest business boosters of their career.
