I just wrote a post linking to dozens of different Twitter apps and the like but this one probably deserves a post of its own since it tweaks Twitter in such a way that it basically feels like a different service. Its called Tweetvisor and you can read the full story about it here with links etc. There isn't much else to say other than you probably want to try it and you might end up liking it better than the original Twitter interface.

It has its uses but it also has its faults. One major fault I see is people who have a large cult of followers. Cult is a bad word because its actually just a large number with no real use in it when 95% dont actually follow anything. I would rather have a small number of people who actually follow and its nearly impossible getting local users for that. I can see it fading away rather quick but who knows.

I have been working hard with a second account (which is why I'm sort of digging this concept) that is targeted at my area. I'm not looking for RE agents, but following everyone I can find in the area. And I am only following people that are in the target market. Messages are direct interactions, or they are specifically about that area.

We'll see how it works.

Lane thats exactly how I think Twitter would work well for agents. But what I see mostly is that people are just trying to rack up the number of followers and this is already being manipulated and abused and is quite artificial. This might work rather well for people who only need massive amounts of generic traffic to their site or blog but this is all but useless for RE agents who depend on local traffic. It would be great if we could make money off just pure traffic but thats not the case. In fact it would be much easier to get generic traffic in general vs local traffic.
