Hospice is indeed my favorite place to take things that I consider 'recycle-ables'. Once again I will be moving (the end of this month). It has been great living with my daughter and granddaughter but now it is time to move a few miles down the road.
This move will be A LOT easier though!!!! First of all, all of my mother's and grandmother's furniture that I have been moving around with me is staying with my daughter. Some of it she will keep and some she is keeping for her brother until he has a larger place in DC and can get it up there. Since her home is 2000 sq ft, this will not be a problem.
I am also cleaning out again - books: have I used it in the last year or do I think I will in the coming year? If not then it needs to go to Hospice. The same rule with clothing and many of my collectibles!!! I have taken two trunk loads up to them so far!
Hospice sells the items donated and uses the money to assist people who are terminally ill! They provide a wonderful service and do not charge for it! I took advantage of it during the last months for both of my parents. So now I have a chance to give back a little to Hospice!
Check your local yellow pages or do an internet search to locate your local Hospice Thrift Store!!! You will be doing the entire community a service by allowing them to continue their work!
