Okay, so I have been reading, practicing and struggling with SEO in order to take control of my own Internet presence. I know, I know! I should concentrate my efforts on buying and selling real estate...or helping other people do it and leave SEO to the pros.

Fact is...I have left it to the "pros" for all of my 8 years in real estate! As I look back on my results my ROI on this method is hardly worth bragging about.

Sure I can contribute a considerable amount of my past business from my web site but it seems for the money I have spent I should see a better return.

Anywho, I have a new site that I'm concentrating a lot of effort on building. From what I understand "meta tags" are not as important as they used to be and content is king.

Any words of wisdom???

My understanding is that yes, content is growing increasingly important, and that's a good thing. I also understand that adding videos to your site will impress the search engines.

I also read that video and a site being interactive will be of high importance to the search engines.  Good luck with the new site!

Meta tags are not worth it for the leading search engines. It still does help some small ones and goes into the overall algorithm. I wouldn't totally ditch, but don't waste too much time.
