What are you doing to GO GREEN?
Here is another post from my Things to Consider Series where I am on an "appreciate ya'" mission to emphasize the amazing contributions of the BRIGHTEST and the BEST here at Active Rain...such as the value-added content from the eco-friendly "stars" at the Eco-All-Stars Group
To say I "appreciate ya"" I am reading members BLOGS like crazy, and reBlogging the posts that insisted I read them.
I am posting these on the Things to Consider Series. HERE, for example , Robert has some practical pointers for us
The new action phrase besides, "Depression" is "Going Green". Are you doing anything?
At HomePointe Property Management we have been doing the following:
1. We have a paperless reporting system for our clients. All managment contracts, leases, and monthly statements including paid invoices are scanned and filled on our servers. Our clients can access their file and view them, copy the file to their computer, or print if needed. We save on postage, envelopes, paper, and lost time in transit. Plus our clients do not have to maintain paper files if they don't want to. We have been doing this since 2006.
2. Our clients can receive their monthly proceeds checks electronically saving paper, stamps, lost checks, trips to the bank, and time.
3. Our tenants can pay their rent via ACH (auto payments that we collect electronically) saving stamps, paper, trips to the bank, and paper.
4. All our vacancies and show times are posted on our website saving paper.
5. Our showing schedule is posted on our website and is on our voice mail as well. We preschedule 2-3 showings per week which in addition to providing necessary security for each vacancy we have, it gathers up several prospects in one showing saving gas.
6. We recycle paper waste in our offices.
7. Every year we purge closed account files that are over 3 years old and recycle all file folders for reuse.
We are looking for new ideas to further the cause of recycling and reusing. If you have any ideas please feel free to post what you do.
