I did another open house this weekend (last minute) for an agent in the same office.  Three people came and did not have agents. Wow!! This is becoming a trend and one I welcome whole heartedly. :) Only three you say!! Yes, but those three need an agent and were full of questions and it was a pleasure talking to them.

I gave them my cards we chatted and I have just set them up on campaigns to receive some great items of value. This was without any marketing on my part since it was literally last minute. Imagine what would have happened had I marketed like I did for the last one. Never under estimate the possibilities of the open house. Hope everyone else is having some great experiences with open houses! Remember if you are a new agent or are expanding your database open houses are a great resource.

There were a ton of open houses in our area this weekend. And yes we have lately noticed quite many buyers without agents "wondering" around :) ~Rita

Dear Pamela,

Getting 3 prospects without an agent at one open house is fantastic to me!

Congrats,

Pamela,

Congrats on your open house!   I agree with you on not underestimating the possibilities of the open house.   I am hoping to do more open houses in 2009.

Congrats. I totally agree: sometimes, a "slow" day is good because you can engage in longer and meaningful conversations with the folks who come through. I am a total believer in open house and I encourage others to do it. See How I get leads when I hold an open house in Alameda CA

Good luck!

Open houses is where we are getting MOST of our buyers... we hold them every weekend...and not only are we getting buyers... sellers are coming out telling us they are keeping their eyes on us... their Realtor has had their house on the market 7 months and only one Open House and the price was wrong in the Ad  by $100,000... they have driven by our open houses for the past several months ... today they came in ...  I have obtained many listings in my career from having Open Houses... sellers just coming to them to interview me ... You might not sell the home you are having open but if you talk to the people...listen ... Open Houses work!

Pamela, congratulations on the three new leads. With gas prices down, it looks like potential buyers are starting to look at open houses again.

Pamela, I just wrote a post wondering whether to hold an Open House next Sunday due to the Super Bowl. I'm glad you had a successful, spontaneous Open House. What do you think about having one next Sunday? ~Pat
