Hello Rainers! Have you accumlulated a significant amount points by your participation on Active Rain? Have you been wondering if you could ever use them for something? Well, today is the day. Trulia, in collaboration with Active Rain, is announcing It's Raining Points - a new Trulia Rewards Program where you can get cash for your Active Rain Points. [ends 1/23/09]
So How Does It Work?
We have 3 levels of rewards:
Now you can apply your Active Rain Points for cash usable towards an annual Trulia Pro subscription. We won't actually take your points from you, or deliver you greenbacks, rather, you'll get a sweet Trulia Pro reward for all your hard work. Great job! If you're not ready for an annual subscription and have more than 1,000 points, you can try Trulia Pro first for one month free.
Where Do I Accept My Reward?
Simply visit rainingpoints.com and fill out the rewards form. Once we confirm your status, we will send you a one-time use coupon to redeem Active Rain points for Trulia Pro. Congrats Rainers!
Thanks to Jon, Bob, Jeff and Brad for collaborating with us....
Update:
The first 20 Rainers that get their rewards will also get a Free Raining Points T-Shirt
Very interesting. Thanks for blogging on the contest/subject. I have been a Trulia Pro/Top Voice for a couple of years and really have not seen much out of it. Is it really worth the money? Thanks!
Hey Rudy! I started my annual Trulia Pro Membership back in June 2008. I just signed up for my Rainers Coupon and am hoping to use it when I renew my Trulia Pro Membership later this year! Best wishes for an innovative 2009! Judy Boyle Northborough, MA
P.S. How do I get one of those cool T-Shirts??????
Always nice to see some collaboration between companies, especially beacuse I enjoy frequenting both so often. Definitely going to be looking into this. Thanks!
At last! This is a creative idea, and I will check this out today. I met Frances at the Houston Barcamp and had a free trial thing, but I still haven't used it. Cool -
Very clever, pay Trulia to push your site further from page one and then pay Trulia a referral fee (it's coming, don't kid yourself) for the same client...
Well - I think that most of my clients would be in the $75 off range...leaving them to pay about $273 for the annual membership, which is completely reasonable and you give a generous discount with this deal. My question is, to those who have the Trulia Pro membership currently, how can my clients (remember, my clients are real estate agents since I am a real estate virtual assistant) expect to see their day change because of their membership? Is there a great deal of activitiy? Do qualified leads come through regularly? I know that as with anything you can only expect to get out of something what you put into it...but say they give the system 100% effort, what can they expect to see in return? Thanks so much for the insights!!!
Do you know where I go to apply the credit? I have the coupon code but my annual subscription doesn't renew until June. Sorry to trouble you with this but love the idea of $75 bucks. Thx! :)
Rudy~Dude, you're always thinking! After meeting you and the Trulia crew at the AR party in Orlando, I joined Trulia Pro...so, I think I should get two shirts :-)....which means I'll have a full closet...one A|R shirt, one Twitter shirt and two Trulia shirts. Four days of deciding what to wear are now pre-determined :-0 Happy New Year!
@Christine - Great question. Some agents like Elizabeth Weitraub have received approx a call or email per day from being a Trulia Pro. Trulia Pro gives agents more exposure and control on Trulia. Unlimited featured listings, Create a customized spotlight ad [billboard ad] in your top 20 markets, monitor your ad in real time to see which markets are getting you, your clients listings and your company the most views. Trulia Pro's also can select the destination url of each of your listings = you decide which website or blog we send the consumers to. Each Trulia Pro can also send each of their seller clients a custom branded listing report for their listing which shows how many views and clicks their listing has received on Trulia - a great way to show how proactivly you are marketing their home.
@Eleanor - You're welcome
@Lou - Great
@Lane @celeste - The Markerman may have some up his sleave.....
@Linsey - Email me at Rudy @ trulia dot com and we'll set it up
I checked out Trulia pro some time ago, but as a buyer's agent it didn't seem to make sense. The $100 discount is a good discount. Thanks for letting us know.
I have been contemplating joining TRULIA for a while now. My local television station cancelled the Home Preview Channel that I was using to gain additional exposure for my clients, so I have a little extra advertising dollars to spend and I have felt that Trulia may be my missing piece. With this extra savings, I think it is worth a shot. So once I get my certificate I think I will follow the directions to join and try it out for 12 months. THANKS FOR CREATING SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR THOSE THAT CONTRIBUTE SO MUCH TO OUR PROFESSION!
@Maureen - That's good to hear. I couldn't resist....What size shoe are you :)
@Pam - That's excellent. Blog on.
@Neal - You're very welcome. Perfect timing I guess......I like the maps too....especially those little green markers :)
@Brad - That's an understatement :) We're in good company.....
@Lise - You're welcome....
@Mark - Thank you.
@Mike - Interesting.........
@Alyssa - Have a wonderful 09 as well.
@Kerry - Happy we could help you....
@Michelle - Good to hear.....Ok, you're gonna make me blush now......I think I see an extra t-shirt over there........
@Vickie - Trulia Pro is great for a buyers agent as well.....It gives you the ability to brand yourself and your business in 20 different geographic markets - local or nationwide....The key is in the messaging of the ad.....You're a buyers agent so you should specify your value in the ad......then you can track the ad in each market.....switch out low viewed zip codes or neighborhoods for more popular one in your area.....brand, track and measure.....
@Michael - Now that sounds like a plan..... " THANKS FOR CREATING SOMETHING SPECIAL FOR THOSE THAT CONTRIBUTE SO MUCH TO OUR PROFESSION!" - You're very welcome!!!
@Gene - good luck...
@Brad - Ok, now that is just so cool.....Why didn't I think of that?
I want one of Brad's shirts or what is in it!!!!! ; )
As a regular user of Trulia I was waiting for an opportunity (or a closing) to try out Pro. I have had several leads due to Trulia Voices, it works.
Rudy, another opportunity to join you guys! This time I'm not going to forget! After NAR, there was so much going on, we forgot to sign up. So thanks for another opportunity! Hope you had a great time at Inman. I saw some of the pix, just couldn't make it - my daughter had a baby!
Rudy - great reward for blogging; help in a tougher economy. Hope this will be an example for other vendors and sites as well (but you'll always be best, because you were first!)
So, another FREE site turns to us for more money? I agree with the person who commented who is not logged in that you're just throwing money at another site who is looking to knock your own site off the top of the search engines, and then pay referral fees upon more fees to get the same leads you can and will get elsewhere.
I had not researched your Trulia Pro so this was incentive to do so. While I am not going to "cash in" at this "point" I will keep it in mind for the future.
I think someone mentioned this above, how does a buyer's agent benefit from Trulia Pro -- I like the collaboration, just wondering how this would work. Thanks.
Hey Rudy - after the fun of Orlando, I meant to do some exploring about Trulia, and forgot till now. I've heard mostly good things, so will go check it out.
I've got my awesome Trulia bag - a nice shirt would go so well with it, too. ;-)
Trulia Pro I don't know anything about what you do..... I guess I need to consider the free 30 day offer and invest some of my time. Thank you for the offer.....
@Rebecca - Congrats on your golden reward....I'll see if we have any extra shirts :)
@Joan - I mentioned how Trulia Pro is a benefit for Buyers Agents above - "Trulia Pro is great for a buyers agent as well.....It gives you the ability to brand yourself and your business in 20 different geographic markets - local or nationwide....The key is in the messaging of the ad.....You're a buyers agent so you should specify your value in the ad......then you can track the ad in each market.....switch out low viewed zip codes or neighborhoods for more popular one in your area.....brand, track and measure....." In addition, it's a super cost effective way to get yourself noticed by home buyers in the real estate listing search results pages....
@Overland - Michael, you actually get to keep your points, unlike those you redeem with your airlines :)
@Tom - Please follow the steps in the blog post above....
@Gary - Happy to hear that! Keep up the great work....
@Kent - Send me your price sheet....You never know :)
@Golden Estate Management - I agree :)
@Ann - I've been wondering what happened to you :) See you soon.....
@Colleen - I wish....
@Mike - Thanks for the compliment....
@Donne - Trulia is a community for everyone - including Lenders and Mortgage Professionals.....
@Mindy & Jay - I like the idea too :) That sounds good....congrats
@Patricia - "Rudy, you guys are totally smart! The Washington Post keeps raising its rates and they don't take Active Rain points! " Wouldn't it be nice if they did?
@Tina - Thanks for helping Donne. Feel free to respond anytime :) I really appreciated our conversations in NYC for Inman....Talk soon...
@AgentAudrey - Check it out.....Rainingpoints.com is just our landing page for the rewards program.....same Trulia!
@Courtney - Timing is everything I guess.....You can still get your reward and we'll apply it at the end of your subscription.....Get your reward today!
@Thanks Kathleen. Remember, the rewards program is only good till 1/23/09
@Diane - Great. I'll be looking for you :)
@Suzanne - Your welcome
@John - Very cool for sure.....You're very welcome John!
@Amber - If you already have Trulia Pro and have enough AR points, please redeem your rewards coupon today and we will activate it at the end of your current Trulia Pro subscription.....Cool?
@Castellum Realty - We wnated you to keep your points while still getting a reward.....I'll mention the localism shirts to the AR crew :)
@Tom - Creative Collaboration is so 2009 :) You can quote me on that one :)
@Nickolas - When you get creative minds in a room, anything is possible.....keep your eyes open :)
"In 2001 a Bollywood movie, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham used the song without acknowledgment or permission. The producers were taken to court and were ordered to pay compensation."
Hey Rudy,
Thanks and by the way, tell everyone to use Trulia PRO like I did when I did a promo video for you guys two years ago at the KW Family Reunion Convention. How come I didn't get a free shirt for the testimonial ....
