Miami Springs is a quiet, tree-shaded residential community in Miami-Dade County, Florida, founded by Glenn Hammond Curtiss, "The Father of Naval Aviation", and James Bright, during the famous "land boom" of the 1920s. Incorporated as the Town of Country Club Estates in 1926, its name was changed in 1930 to the Town of Miami Springs in recognition of the 15 natural springs under the area which supplied water to the City of Miami. Miami Springs' triangular boundaries include: Miami International Airport to the south, the Miami canal to the north, and the Florida East Coast Railway canal on the west. These boundaries significantly limit expansion, and help "Beautiful Miami Springs" maintain the small-town atmosphere that is desired and enjoyed by its residents.
