Given the overlap between business and personal relationships, we should take advantage of Twitter and Facebook to market ourselves in subtle ways. For example, we could remind family and friends of what we do for a living via status updates. We could indicate that we are on their way to an open house and leave the address, or talk about a home we just listed and mention the address. Through these subtle messages, we can make sure family and friends remember us when they need to buy or sell a home in the future.

Andrea- I agree and have been diligently working on my Twitter updates and Facebook too. I am looking forward to the new year staying on top of my social networking.

I recently joined Twitter and am working at keeping those updates fresh. Very good point about reminding family...they seem to be the last ones we discuss business with.

Andrea, I absolutely agree with you. Just additional tools to maintain the "top of the mind awareness" we all have to work towards, least anyone of our friends, family or contacts forget.

Andrea, how often do you twitter, i find myself on twitter way to long and often

I just got it goind and it is another chore in the business development angle.
