When did I get old? That was a rhetorical question!

Photo courtesy of vieran2001I will start this story by telling you a little bit about myself. I was DJ for 18 years and have a very large record and CD collection, over 13,000 records and 6,000 CD's.

Today is the day I became old as I was listening to a Beatles record, when it all of a sudden skipped as my daughter jumped off the couch. This is the statement that made me feel real old real quick! "Dad? Why does your big black CD skip when I jump off the couch?"

photo courtesy of rawku5CD's? CD's? Have I not taught you kids anything? You couldn't see your walls for the first 4 years of your life because of my records. (We got a bigger house so I could have more storage for my records)

I'm not ready to be old yet!

I will be 45 on Thursday and felt even older as I was explaing the 1970's gas shortage to my 27 year old Nephew today. The worst part was I remember waiting int he lines and in 1979 when it happened again and gas went up to ....drum roll please....1 DOLLAR argh I am old today LOL

Todd, I remember when the recruits coming on the police department came on after I was born. That was a real reality check!

We got old the day we had kids...

We bought a turntable...my kids had no idea what that was.
We bought a remake of the old Atari game system - my kids thought the games were boring.
My kids couldn't understand why a friend's mini van didn't have doors that opened via remote control.
And, of course, my eldest, when I told him how old I was (only 37!) turned to me and said "Do you remember WW1?

Great story Todd. I used to buy records and had over 700. I saw them as an "investment"... yeah right...

I remember being in college and was shocked at $.50 per gallon gas. I said I'd stop driving if it got to a dollar...and candy was $.10...
