I am not for a lot of hoopla about anything related to me. Therefore, this post isn't about me. As a matter of fact, I had no plans of posting a blog today until I received a phone call and listened to a song.
5:30am - I woke to start my daily regimen of going to the gym and getting the "ticker" pumping and the sweat pouring. This is a commitment (NOT A RESOLUTION) for my better 2009.
8:00am - I am in the car and beginning my 25 minutes drive to the office. The phone rings with well wishes and a question. "David.....How do you feel this morning?"
MY RESPONSE...................................... I am Thankful!
Last year wasn't the best year for me. Arguably, 2008 could have been the worst since I lost my father in 1995 about 13 months after graduating from Queens University.
I mention Erykah because she has played a musical role in my life for a long time. While listening to a song and thinking about a challenge issued by Nannette Saunders, I wanted to share it with you.
It's a peak into the spirit of a 37-year old man who dreams big and desires much BUT life gets in the way!
After listening to this song, I was inspired to write and send my birthday wishes!
1. BE WELL --- Do something for your body today AND EVERY DAY!
2. BE THANKFUL ---- For most of us, we don't have the perfect life or "The American Dream". However, if you are reading this............YOU ARE BLESSED! BE THANKFUL!
3. BE FOCUSED ---- Set a goal and move towards it with unbridled passion and persistence!
If you do those things for me, it would be a great gift to me on my birthday because the world would become a healthier and happier place!
ENJOY YOUR..........excuse me................ENJOY MY DAY (big smile)!

Man, I can't help but smile when I see your happy attitude all over twitter, active rain, etc. I'm thankful for knowing positive people like you David! Happy Birthday!
David, Happy Birthday my friend! I knew there was something special about you...Capricorn. Yeeha! My b-day is in 6 days although I was born a year or two before you...okay more...oh well. I won't tell.
"No matter what your current status is financially, physically, emotionally, etc... you have cause to be thankful. Even if it is just your heart beating and the hands that helped you open this page. Those two things alone can give you the desire (heart) to do anything and means (hands) to make it happen! If you are serious about your growth as an individual, having an attitude of gratitude is crucial. " -- Spencer Combs
Hello David! It's always a pleasure when we get to speak in the mornings (and sometimes afternoons). I sincerely anticipate that you will have a great day today on your birthday.
Now, you have to realize that this is probably the first (and possibly the last) time I've ever posted something to someone's BLOG. (BLOG.... a nasty little four-letter word). So take this as my personal "Happy Birthday" message to you. Be happy, be healthy, live long and prosper. (and yes, I can make my fingers split like Dr. Spock!)
When you allowed me the privilege yesterday of a peek inside your brain via a look at your whiteboard, I knew that beneath that calm, cool exterior lay the heart and soul of a warrior on a mission. May you have an amazing day, an amazing year (no doubt!) and keep up that positive attitude. CU in the office!
This is the first time I've recieved a gift on SOMEONE ELSES birthday! What a great way to pay it forward! Thanks for the reminder that we are blessed just by the fact that we are able to read or hear your message =)
Thank you for your well wishes on your day. I hope there are many more to follow. It has been a true pleasure having to opportunity to get to know you. Have a great day.
Happy, Happy Birthday, David!! How nice of you to think of others on your birthday! And what a nice wish you share with us.
I have been thinking about these things in the last week or so too. It sounds like you don't like resolutions either ;) I also just make commitments and goals for the betterment of myself throughout the year. Just the other day I wrote out my list (which is pretty huge- it's going to be a busy year!!) for each of the major categories in my life; spiritual, personal, relationships, health, money, and work.
When you put some effort and persistence into bettering ourselves not only do we grow as people but we improve our lives, drastically in some cases. It is a wonderful feeling to accomplish goals we set out for ourselves and I thank you for the challenge!
Again, Happy Birthday- I wish you all the best!!
Kind Regards, Nicole Weidauer

DAvid, happy birthday to you! I loved what you wrote so much, that I subscribed to your blog. Life DOES get in the way, all the time, but what's important is to have a vision for your life and keep plowing forward. My quest this year is to define, develope and LIVE my Perfect Day, as often as I can!
Happy Birthday David! You show great wisdom in the understanding of to give is to receive. I enjoy being around you in the office, you have an uplifting spirit and a kind heart to want to help others. God sends special people to cross our paths to show us that he is still here for us. Thanks For ALL You Do!
Thanks for sharing your special day with all of us. You know I feel blessed to have you a part of my days and a part of Keller Williams. You have very special gifts and I am so glad to be part of the many people you share them with.
Happy birthday! I hope it's the best ever. I have so much to be thankful for and it never hurts to be reminded of that fact. 2008 wasn't the best year for most people but we are still here and looking forward to having a positive 2009.
Happy Birthday David! Just wanted to be one of the last to wish you a wonderful day. You know what they say - "Saving the Best for Last"!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to be able to share your special day and a new friendship.
