Christmas cards and/or postcards

I just came up with an idea that I am sure many of you have done, but it is new for me.

Say you have a client.(No, say it,)  lol anyways, you have a client that you have been working and are trying to get them to list.  What if, at christmas time you sent a card that you personalized the message, put your picture and info on the back of the card and, here it comes ladies and gentleman, are you ready, PUT A PICTURE OF THEIR HOUSE ON THE FRONT!  What do you think? THey are more apt to keep it and put it with the rest of their best cards that they recieve, right?  I know I would.  Maybe even displaying it proudly when friends and family come around.  They ask who sent the card and low and behold your info is at their fingertips to give out.

Or anytime of the year, send a postcard thanking them for talking to you, but on the front is a picture of their house.  What kind of impact would that have on them and your business?

Just thinking out of the box a little.

Let me know what you have done along these lines and how it has worked for you.

Wow. You are thinking of Christmas really early! Sounds like a good plan. I send out a yearly CMA with a picture of their home on the cover to each of my clients. They don't ask for it... it just arrives in January.

I am curious what type of response you will get from this post. I will check back in to see the other comments.

That sounds great I will try that soon and let you know if it works. I can't see any reason why it wouldn't

Jeff, yes, please let me know.  I am getting one ready as a thank you card for my buyer I just closed.  I am also going to make up a gift basket with some finer cooking items.  He is into gourmet cooking.

I like the idea of putting their house on the front. Or how about putting a Google satellite photo of their house on the front - see http://maps.google.com

Just another out of the box idea!

You can do this with your business cards too. Put something on the back of your business card that is of value to someone so that they don't throw it away. I got a card from a real estate inspector that has a timeline on the back and it lists the different construction materials used. Very valuable to me (real estate investor). It has earned a permanent spot on my desktop.

Simon, I like the idea of a satellite phote.  I will have to check it out.  Thanks

Jeff, I never thought about doing that will a business card.  Give me some examples of what you would put on the back that is of enought value that they would keep your card.  Thank you very much for your post.  I really appreciate it.
