I know, I know. Satellite radio has been around for a bit. We are behind around our family when it comes to this technology. Being a music nut, and in my late 40's, and ready to throw out the $$$, I am T-minus about loading up the home, all vehicles, and the boats with one or the other. I have spent many hours reading reviews of both and am still not sure. I am close to making a decision, but still need some input, rather handholding. My wife really could care less so maybe it is a guy thing. Anyone have any information on either?

Kevin, you can get the best of both now that they have become one and let you customize your package.  I started out with XM and have just kept the basic package with them.  I am a sports nut and find that XM has all that I need.  It does not have the NFL but on Sunday I am in front of my TV anyway and not listening to the radio.

Kevin,

They merged into one company but I only listened to one or two channels ever the whole time I had it. :)

Been a member of XM since 2003 (They told me that when I went to cancel my account yesterday). With my iphone, podcasts and everything else no reason to spend the $30 a month. Since I went to cancel they gave me three months for free to see if I would change my mind (and yes, they are now the same company but charge a premium for both)

I have had XM for over a year now, we enjoy the comedy channel "Laugh USA" it is clean comedy and we really giggle at some of the people.  My wife enjoys the all holiday channel during the holiday season and who can't resist a good old fashioned "story" once in a while.  I will keep it as long as it stays reasonably priced.  Can't speak for the other one.

Kevin - I have had Sirius as part of my satellite package, it was alright but never could convince me to spend the bucks to put it in my vehicles. If I were constantly on the road, maybe.
