NASCAR--How bad have you got it?

I am an avid NASCAR fan.  Yup, I'm one of the millions of women in America who watch mostly grown men drive fast and turn left.  As the Race to the Chase begins in Loudon, New Hampshire tomorrow, I thought I would write to see how many other ActiveRain folks follow Nascar.  I'm also curious if anyone markets to a sport or even Nascar fans?  As this sport is something that I enjoy, I'd love to combine my love of real estate with my enjoyment in watching racing.  And, since I know your all dying to know, it's the 6 car I root for.  Mark Martin is the MAN!  And, since his retirement is near (or is it?), my vote next year with be for Tony Stewart.  Missing the Chase this year will make him come back next year with a vengence!  Besides, I love to see him climb those fences and his after race comments just can't be beat!  Until next week...

It is not a big thing here. I know a few fans but know almost nothing about the sport. They burn a lot of gas going around in a circle for several hours.

Hi Eric,  you should definitely try watching sometime.  NASCAR is like any sport, you get to know the players, the inside scoop and the plays/driving styles for each track, etc.  Much like football, or any other sport, it has a huge following.  My favorite track, Bristol, TN, can hold 200,000 fans and they sell out twice a year and the speed just amazes me!!  Thanks for posting!!

Hi Sue,

I enjoy watching, but don't know too much about it.  The point scoring and all that.  I have alot of friends who are fans.

Hi John,

Once you start watching you get addicted just like any sport.  In fact, I think football points are more confusing!  It's funny how some folks will root for a brand....Ford vs. Chevy or even Bud vs. Miller.  If you get a chance to watch any race, watch Bristol under the lights next year.  Definitely one of my favorites.

Thanks for writing and have a wonderful holiday!

Sue
